All You Need is Love

Happy Valentine's Day! ("What time is it?" "It's Vamlumtimes!") I would like to state for the record that, in spite of my last post about the opposite sex, I include boys in my list of things I love. Just a small list of what I love:
God
Jesus
My family
My friends
Boys (see? Number 5!)
Heaters
Blankets
Teddy Bears
Books
Music
Fingernail clippers
My new crockpot and griddle
Fuzzy pink slippers
Snow (as long as it doesn't carry into March)
Sunlight
Working vehicles
My bed

Okay, so clearly, if that's a small list, you don't want to know absolutely everything I love, but I decided to include these in honor of the holiday, considering that is the most Valentine's Day-esque thing I will do all day (besides opening the awesome v-day package i got from mom--those are some amazing socks!). But that's okay. Life is good.

This week's proof that Megan is getting older: Tuesday, I finally got my share of the tip jar at work, and it was a $43 gift card to Wal-Mart. So I knew I was going to get something fun, but I didn't know what. I went last night with my roommate Christine, though, and what did I buy? If you read the above list closely, you know the answer: a crockpot and a griddle. And you know what? I was completely excited about buying them! And I still am! But, really, when you start getting excited about kitchen appliances, you know your priorities are changing. -sigh-

Working for a Living

Big news this week: Megan got a REAL job! Very exciting. I'm trying really hard not to use a ton of exclamation points, but just know that I'm really excited about it. When I got off the phone with Clint, my future boss, on Friday afternoon, I immediately started jumping around my bedroom to the delight and amusement of my roommate Christine. So I will be a template developer at LexisNexis, with a pretty good possibility of moving into an editor position sometime in the future. I'll be learning a lot of computer-nerd stuff, but that's okay, because learning is good, especially when I'm getting paid rather than graded for it. So next week will mark my last week at Einstein Bros. I can't begin to describe my sadness at leaving that place . . . because I have none! Woohoo!

In other news: Boys are stupid. Okay, not all of them, but a particular one who decided to mess with me in the last couple of weeks is definitely a big doofus. So that is all. Boys are stupid. (no offense to you fellas, but you can't blame someone for thinking that when she has been very wrongfully treated by another)

The weather may be warming up just a little, so that's always happy. I'm looking forward to a day that I don't have to walk around in four layers so as not to freeze. Yesterday I took an hour-long walk with a buddy of mine, and I did quite well in not feeling really cold, so good news on that front. Spring may come this year, after all.
